BigHill Cycle Service School
Bring Your Own Bike — Learn to Maintain It Like a Pro
Learn to take care of your own bike with hands-on instruction from the mechanics at BigHill Cycle. Our Service School is built around working directly on your bike, giving you the confidence and skills to perform essential maintenance at home — and to handle trail-side repairs when needed.
Each session covers the key elements from our Essentials Bike Tune-Up package, including:
You’ll learn how to diagnose common issues, make reliable adjustments, and keep your bike running smoothly all season long.
Classes run from 12PM to 3PM on each scheduled day.
This is a hands-on class, and every participant works on their own bike throughout the session. You’re also encouraged to bring any bike tools you own that you’re not fully confident using or would like to learn more about — our mechanics will walk you through proper use and technique.
While the course doesn’t cover suspension service or brake bleeding, some parts installations can be included when relevant to the topics covered. Participants will also receive 15% off any parts ordered for use during the course, with installation guidance provided as part of the lesson.
We keep class sizes small — a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 participants per date — to ensure everyone gets personalized instruction. Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you plan to purchase parts for use during the class, or if you have any questions about your bikes suitability for the course, please bring your bike to our shop at least one week before your scheduled session. This will allow us to inspect your bike ahead of time and make sure it will be ready to be worked on in the class.
Looking to go deeper? We also offer custom classes tailored to more advanced or specific topics — perfect for riders who want to expand their mechanical know-how or focus on particular areas of bike maintenance. To book a session or learn more, send us an email at service@bighillcycle.com.
Reserve your spot in an upcoming class today and gain the skills — and confidence — to keep your bike performing at its best.
